Baicheng potato

Baicheng potato is a specialty of Baicheng County in Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang. Baicheng county has a long history of planting potatoes, making potatoes one of the "three treasures of Baicheng". Baicheng County has a cool climate and sufficient sunshine. The temperature difference between day and night during the production period is more than 15℃, and the irrigation water is all melted snow from Tianshan Mountain. The potatoes produced have a unique taste and are favored by merchants and consumers. Therefore, the products are exported to Urumqi, Turpan, Korla and other prefectures in Xinjiang, and the industrial development potential is huge. In recent years, Baicheng county has further improved the "leading+base+farmers" contract agriculture development model in accordance with the characteristic agricultural development ideas of "specialization, base, scale and commercialization" and the development strategies of "one village, one product" and "one township", relying on Xinjiang Jiangda Potato Industry Co., Ltd., in 14 towns and villages such as Hutai Township and Chaerqi Town with relatively mature planting technology and good mass base. A number of excellent varieties with early, middle and late maturity, such as Longshu No.3 and Feiwuruita, were popularized, and a number of applicable technologies, such as soil testing and formula fertilization, integrated control of diseases, pests and weeds, and the use of biogas residue and biogas slurry, were popularized, and the yield and quality of potatoes were greatly improved.
