Wensu thin-skinned walnut

Wensu County is a famous "hometown of walnuts in China" in Xinjiang, with an area of 160,000 mu. The thin-skinned walnuts rich in it are famous at home and abroad for their thin skin, delicious meat and delicious taste, and have been identified by experts as "excellent varieties with unparalleled quality". Xinwen No.179 and Zha No.343 won the silver and bronze prizes respectively at the 1999 Kunming World Horticultural Exposition. Walnut varieties cultivated in Wensu Woody Grain and Oil Forest Farm were awarded the title of "National Characteristic Seedling Base" by the State Forestry Administration in 2002 and "High-quality Walnut Production Base" by the autonomous region because of their characteristics of "early fruiting, high yield, high quality and strong resistance". In 2007, the 5,000 mu high-quality walnut base in the forest farm passed the "Organic Conversion Product Certification" of the relevant state departments and obtained the "Organic Conversion Product Certification Certificate". In October, 2007, Wensu Walnut won the honor of "Designated Fruit in 20081" and "Famous Fruit in China", which is inseparable from Wensu's long history of planting walnuts and the contribution of century-old walnut trees.
