The knives in Xinjiang are well-known for their practicality and collection. The most famous knife producing areas are Ingisha and Kuqa. These two styles are mainly sold in Xinjiang market. Yengisar knives are characterized by strong Central Asian characteristics, including straight knives and curved knives, mostly cowhide covers, which are beautiful and practical. Kuqa's knife seems to be missing some Central Asian styles, but it reminds people of the murals of the Thousand Buddha Cave in Kuqa.
