Dove tree Dove tree, also known as Davidia involucrata, is a tall deciduous tree with fine wood texture, which is an ideal raw material for making exquisite handicrafts and precious wood products. In 1932, this tree was found in Baping Mountain at the junction of Sichuan, Shaanxi and Hubei provinces. It has attracted great attention from the botanical and horticultural circles inside and outside the province. Since then, the research team led by Zhang Xuexin, director and assistant engineer of Zhenping Forestry Research Institute, has carried out sexual and asexual reproduction experiments on Davidia involucrata, which has been successful and has cultivated a number of seedlings. In order to make "China pigeon flower" bloom all over China, the county forestry bureau is carrying out large-scale propagation and seedling raising.
