A scholar named Gu came up with a clever plan. He called 20 deformed people, such as Cyclops, Tuoguobei, Lalitou and Huoluo, to send red fragrant rice to Beijing. The kind queen mother was very unhappy after being summoned and asked, "Why did you send these people to send Gong Mi to the court?" Gu Xiucai hurriedly replied, "You don't know something, Lafayette. People in our ancient village have become like this after eating red fragrant rice. These people are still smart and capable people there." Empress Dowager Cixi was very surprised, and made a decree to immediately return all the red incense Gong Mi sent to her, and canceled the tribute task. The man surnamed Gu was afraid of committing the crime of deceiving the monarch, so he went away anonymously. Later, people named this village Gujia Village in memory of this resourceful scholar.
