Liangping Shouzhu

Liang Ping was awarded the title of "Hometown of Shouzhu in China" by China Bamboo Industry Association and International Bamboo and Rattan Network Center. Since 2007, in order to give full play to the advantages of bamboo resources and change resource advantages into economic advantages, Liang Ping has cultivated bamboo industry as a pillar industry of county economy. Among them, Shouzhu is regarded as the main cultivated bamboo species, and at the same time, the inefficient forest transformation is vigorously implemented to cultivate Shouzhu resources. In recent years, under the guidance of International Bamboo and Rattan Network Center, Nanjing Forestry University and Chongqing Academy of Forestry, Liang Ping has implemented three national scientific research projects, such as "National Shouzhu Standardized Cultivation Demonstration Zone" and "Integrated Research and Demonstration of Ecological Cultivation Technology of Shouzhu Forest in liangping county", and carried out extensive experimental research on rapid seedling breeding, standardized cultivation, processing and utilization, biomass and carbon storage of Shouzhu. In December 2010, Liang Pingshou Bamboo was awarded the national geographical indication trademark. The bamboo industry characterized by longevity bamboo in Liangping has developed rapidly, and now it has become the county with the largest bamboo resource area, the highest output, the largest output value and the richest variety in Chongqing. At present, the county's Shouzhu area is 305,000 mu, accounting for 60.8% of the county's 502,000 mu of bamboo forests, including 252,000 mu of new Shouzhu and 50,000 mu of inefficient Shouzhu. The annual output value of Shouzhu industry reaches 730 million yuan, and the annual income of 30,000 farmers reaches more than 6,000 yuan.
