Liangping wild sweet tea has a history of thousands of years. It can clear away heat and toxic materials, moisten the lungs, eliminate phlegm and relieve cough, and strengthen the body. Liangping Sweet Tea has been approved by FDA of the United States, Department of Pharmacy of Mie University of Japan, Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine, Tea Quality Inspection Center of China Ministry of Agriculture, and it has been used to treat diabetes in the Third Hospital of Huaihua City, Hunan Province. Sweet tea has a huge market for cancer prevention, anti-fatigue, anti-aging, pollen allergy, hypertension and diabetes. Liangping sweet tea is Lithcarpus potytatus (wall.) Rena, belonging to Lithocarpus genus of Fagaceae. Folk use leaves to soak in water as tea, which has a clear sweetness, so it is called "sweet tea".
