Rongchang white pig Rongchang's livestock specialty has the characteristics of "thin skin and tender meat, and plenty of lean meat". In the 1950s, the Dictionary of World Livestock Varieties and Famous Species published by Britain was recorded in a special article. During the "Seventh Five-Year Plan" period, the Ministry of Agriculture listed Rongchang pig, Taihu pig and Northeast folk pig as one of the three excellent local breeds under national protection. At the first national symposium on the conservation and utilization of livestock breed resources, experts called for the protection and promotion of Rongchang pig as a national treasure, just like the protection of giant pandas. In recent years, Rongchang piglets have been exported to all provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, Japan, North Korea and other countries for nearly 1.5 million pigs every year. It is the largest export-oriented piglet production base in China. Rongchang bristle is a famous local specialty. It has the characteristics of whiteness, rigidity and toughness, thick roots, no bifurcation at the tips, strong elasticity, high temperature resistance and no deformation, and is an important raw material for manufacturing industrial and daily necessities. As early as the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, it was exported to the international market, with an annual production and sales volume of 100,000 Jin in its heyday.
