Rongchang pottery originated in Anfu Town, which was called Ciyao before Qing Dynasty. The recorded pottery first appeared in Han Dynasty, and was widely developed in Ming and Qing Dynasties. It reached its peak in 1970s, and was sold to Southeast Asia more than 100 years ago. Since 1960s, it has been sold to the United States, Germany, Britain, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Japan and other countries. Now, it is the largest ceramic production base in southwest China. When it comes to pottery, Rongchang people look proud and proud. Rongchang has four treasures, folding fans, pottery, grass cloth and pigs. Rongchang Pottery, together with Yixing Zisha Pottery in Jiangsu, Jianshui Pottery in Yunnan and nixing pottery in Qinzhou, Guangxi, is called the four famous pottery in China. The production history of 800 years has given Rongchang pottery more cultural details. "Anfuchang is five miles long, with fine mud arranged in rows" and "Before the mountain, the mine is behind the mountain, and the middle kiln burns pottery pots". These folk songs, which have been circulating since the Song and Qing Dynasties, vividly describe the scale of pottery production and the grand occasion of sales in Rongchang at that time. Therefore, Rongchang County, together with Jingdezhen in Jiangxi, Yixing in Jiangsu and Foshan in Guangdong, is called the Four Tao Dou. Rongchang pottery mainly produces daily-use pottery, packaging pottery, arts and crafts pottery and garden building pottery. Because Rongchang clay has strong viscosity and plasticity, and the fired container has the characteristics of no leakage and good preservation, it is known as "fine clay", so people have given Rongchang pottery the evaluation of "as thin as paper, as bright as a mirror and as sweet as sound". There are many kinds of Rongchang pottery, and the "clay refined goods" in the craft pottery have a vivid color, giving people a sense of simplicity and elegance. The "glazed goods" decorated with various colored glazes have a crystal clear shape, a crisp and pleasant sound when knocked, generous and simple decoration and rich variety, with strong national style and local characteristics. It also includes all kinds of daily necessities (steaming bowls, drums, tea sets, wine sets, rice dishes and phlegm) and more than ten kinds of appreciation products and smoking sets. The products are divided into two categories: "clay refined goods" and "secret goods". All kinds of appreciation products are dexterous in design and beautiful in shape, showing strong vitality. At present, Rongchang has set up a pottery museum, a pottery industrial park, a pottery bar and a pottery market, so as to give full play to Rongchang's ceramic technology and cultural advantages.
