Panlong ginger

Changling Community, panlong town, Rongchang County, Chongqing is famous for its rich ginger (commonly known as Panlong Ginger). Panlong Ginger has the characteristics of white and tender color, delicious fragrance, refreshing slag, low crude fiber content and low sulfur content. It can be used as a vegetable, seasoning and medicine, and is favored by consumers. It is a necessary first-class vegetable for restaurants and hotels. After deep processing, ginger can become a healthy ginger drink for Xian Yi. Local farmers strive to build a pollution-free ginger base of 10,000 mu, and small ginger has become a "golden knot" for local farmers to get rich. In May, 2003, panlong town Changling Community established the "Rongchang Panlong Changling Ginger Cooperative" based on the cultivation of local key agricultural products-ginger. The cooperative aims at imparting technology and serving the masses, and aims at transforming the mode of economic development and adjusting the economic structure, and is committed to the promotion and development of ginger planting industry. This cooperative was rated as "Top Ten Model Cooperatives" by Chongqing and "National Model Farmers' Professional Cooperation Organization" by the Ministry of Agriculture. Up to now, the number of ginger growers in panlong town has reached 14,000, covering 16 villages (communities) in the town, with a planting area of more than 15,000 mu, initially forming a large-scale development model. Panlong ginger is a geographical indication certification trademark.
