Siraitia grosvenorii, a perennial vine of Cucurbitaceae. Alias Lahan Fruit, False Bitter Melon, Soft-shelled Turtle, Golden Swallow, Lohan Watch and Bare Tortoise, it is known as "immortal fruit" with heart-shaped leaves and dioecious plants, which bloom in summer and bear fruit in autumn. It is mainly produced in Longjiang Township, Longsheng and Baishou towns in Yongfu County, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Yongfu County and Longsheng County are the hometown of Siraitia grosvenorii with a long planting history, of which Yongfu has been planting Siraitia grosvenorii for more than 300 years, Longsheng County has been planting Siraitia grosvenorii for more than 200 years, and 90% of Siraitia grosvenorii in China is produced in Yongfu County and Longsheng County. Siraitia grosvenorii is a precious local product in Guilin, and it is also one of the first batch of medicinal and edible materials approved by the state. Its main function is to relieve cough and resolve phlegm. Fruit has high nutritional value, and is rich in vitamin C (400-500 mg per 100 g of fresh fruit), glucosides, fructose, glucose, protein, lipids and so on. Siraitia grosvenorii is sweet and cool, and belongs to the lung and large intestine meridian. It is often combined with Qiongzhen Ganoderma lucidum, which has the effects of moistening lung to relieve cough, promoting fluid production to quench thirst, and is suitable for lung heat or lung dry cough, pertussis and thirst caused by summer heat, and also has the effects of moistening intestine and relaxing bowels.
