Hepo Kwai Li Hepo Kwai Li, or bamboo hat, is a rain gear commonly used by working people in Chaoshan. There are different sizes and specifications, the largest is the pointed rain hat produced in Jiexi County, which is 80 cm wide. It is known as the Hepo sunflower hat in the world, and the smallest is the bamboo hat. Bamboo hats are all made of bamboo sticks and arrow bamboo leaves as basic raw materials. There are spires, domes and caps. Seiko uses thin bamboo strips and kato pieces to tie the top and roll the edges, and a layer of oil paper is sandwiched on the bamboo leaves. In order to make it durable and beautiful, some people add calligraphy and painting and write names, and the face of the hat is wiped with tung oil, which is regarded as a treasure by users. During the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, some schools, such as Jinshan Middle School, used a kind of seiko dome bamboo hat as the school hat-the word "Jinzhong", which was uniformly used in military training and marching out. Guerrillas during the war of liberation and militia after liberation also used this bamboo hat as a multifunctional military cap.
