Dangyangyu Kiln is located in Dangyangyu Village, Xicun Township, Xiuwu County, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, 3 kilometers south of Jiaozuo City. Also known as Xiuwu Kiln, Huaiqing Kiln, Hanoi Kiln, Dangyangyu Kiln System, Dangyangyu Kiln Group, etc., it is a large-scale kiln with the most varied style, the richest variety of modeling and decoration, and particularly fine workmanship in China's Song Dynasty porcelain kilns. In the Northern Song Dynasty, Dangyangyu Kiln inherited and developed the tradition of twisted tires in Gongxian Kiln in Tang Dynasty, and developed the technology of twisted tires to the peak, completing the historical transformation from pottery to porcelain. Fired at high temperature, the tire quality is fine and hard, the glaze color is oily and bright, and it hardly absorbs water, which fully meets the standards of modern porcelain. In the Tang Dynasty, like Tang Sancai, the twisted tires were basically made of pottery. The successful firing of the twisted tire porcelain in Dangyangyu Kiln has added a new variety to China ceramics. The manufacturing method of twisted tire porcelain is that tire mud with different colors, such as black and white, is alternately mixed, folded, coiled, cut and scraped, drawn or molded, and then pasted, inlaid and spliced. In this way, two-color or multi-color beautiful patterns appear on the embryo body, and then transparent glaze or yellow, green, brown, emerald blue and tricolor glaze are put into the kiln for firing (there are also high-temperature plain firing first, glazed second kiln firing). The twisted tire technology is a special work of Dangyangyu Kiln, with symmetrical and orderly feather patterns, smooth wood grain, flowing water waves, vivid woven patterns like straw and bamboo, as well as stripe patterns, stone patterns, leaf patterns, wheat ear patterns, pedicle patterns and vortex patterns, which created a precedent for the decoration of ceramic tires in China. The decoration of twisted tires, born from the tires, has the same appearance and colorful infiltration effect, which constitutes the unique rhythm of twisted tires porcelain and is ingenious. Twisted glazed porcelain appeared almost at the same time as twisted fetal porcelain. The so-called twisted glazed porcelain is not the glaze, nor the twisted cosmetic soil, but the "twisted flower", which is the comprehensive application of various colored materials. It is not difficult to imagine the method of applying color, which is to use various special techniques or external forces to make the carcass tilt at different angles or rotate, so that the color material forms a twisted pattern with the beauty of flowing rhythm. Common varieties are white glazed black twisted flowers, emerald glazed black twisted flowers, tricolor black twisted flowers, green glazed black twisted flowers, brown glazed twisted flowers and so on.
