Fuan Jufeng Grape

Fuan Jufeng grape is a specialty of Fuan City, Ningde City, Fujian Province. Fuan has become an important grape producing area in southern China. At present, Kyoho grape has an area of 50,000 mu, with a yield of 56,000 tons, accounting for 60% of Fujian Province. It is a county-level grape production base with the largest area, contiguous scale and standardized production on the west coast and southeast coast of the Taiwan Strait. "Fuan Jufeng Grape" won the title of national geographical indication of agricultural products. Kyoho grape belongs to a medium-ripe variety, which is tetraploid. The ear is big, the grain is big, and the single grain weighs about 10 grams. It ripens in late August. It is purple-black, sweet and fruity, with strawberry fragrance. The skin, meat and seeds are easy to separate, with a sugar content of 16%. It has strong adaptability, good disease resistance and cold resistance, and likes fat and water. The average ear weight is 400-600 grams, the average fruit weight is about 12 grams, and the maximum fruit weight can reach 20 grams. The peel is thick, purplish red, with fruit powder, soft pulp, sweet and juicy, and strawberry flavor. In 1980s, Fuan successfully introduced Kyoho grape, which broke the myth that southern China is not suitable for growing grapes. After 30 years of development, Fuan has become the largest grape production base in the southeast coast of China and is known as the "hometown of grapes in the south". At present, the city's grape area is 50,000 mu, the output of fresh grapes is 56,000 tons, and the output value is nearly 500 million yuan, benefiting 130 administrative villages, 20,000 households and 150,000 people. It has become an important industry for local farmers to increase their income and become rich. Fuan has a unique geographical condition and belongs to a subtropical maritime climate. In July, the temperature difference between day and night is large, which is beneficial to the accumulation of glucose and the coloring of peel. The cultivation techniques are unique and the commercial performance of Kyoho grapes produced is good. It has won the honorary titles of "Geographical Indication of Agricultural Products in People's Republic of China (PRC)", "Hometown of Grapes in South China" and the 2011 National Excellent Grape Appraisal Gold Award. According to the Measures for the Administration of Geographical Indications of Agricultural Products of the Ministry of Agriculture, and after preliminary examination, expert review and publicity, "Fuan Jufeng Grape" recently won the title of National Geographical Indications of Agricultural Products and was registered and protected by the National Geographical Indications of Agricultural Products.
