Shiming Village, located in the west of Yanxi Town, is a mountain village with beautiful environment and rich products. Shiming Village focuses on the development of pollution-free vegetable cultivation and three-dimensional cultivation of fresh water. The whole village grows more than 2,000 mu of vegetables such as taro, cucumber, carob and edamame every year, with a yield of more than 5,000 tons. Shi Ming taro, a tribute of Tang Dynasty, is a special product of our village, and the stone nameplate taro has passed the expert certification of the National Green Food Center. Shiming trademark was awarded as a well-known trademark in Zhangzhou. Shiming taro is produced in Shiming Village, Yanxi Town, Changtai-at the foot of Lianggang Mountain at an altitude of 1119 meters. Here, underground mineral water gurgles, the water quality is sweet and mellow, and the soil layer is deep and rich in minerals. The skin of betel nut taro is purple, the meat is tender, crisp and delicious, with strong aroma and unique flavor. The area of planting areca nut taro in Shiming village is large, with an annual output of 1000 tons. Shiming betel nut taro is famous far and wide, especially by urban residents in Xiamen and Zhangzhou. According to folk legend, Qianlong went down to the south of the Yangtze River, passing through Zhangzhou, seeking local delicacies. The magistrate of Changtai County took a famous chef, a pig elbow and a grain of Shiming taro, and went to the government to make a "pork elbow taro pot", which made Qianlong emperor feel very happy and praised him endlessly. Since then, the humble Shiming taro has been appointed as a tribute, and it has been specially transported to ouchi every year. Another characteristic of Shiming taro is that it is steamed and mashed, added with sugar, accompanied by spices such as orange peel and sweet-scented osmanthus, simmered with warm fire, and the "taro mud" that is tempting can be enjoyed. Shiming taro is a geographical indication product of agricultural products.
