Youxi camellia oleifera

Youxi Camellia oleifera is a specialty of Youxi County, Sanming City, Fujian Province. Youxi County was named "Hometown of Camellia oleifera in China" by China Economic Forest Association. Youxi is the largest county of Camellia oleifera in our province, with a total of 235,000 mu of Camellia oleifera forest. In 2009, it was named as "the hometown of Camellia oleifera in China". Since 2008, Youxi County has fully implemented the development plan of Camellia oleifera industry, supported the cultivation of improved varieties, new planting of farmers, low-yield transformation, and set up professional cooperatives of Camellia oleifera and cultivated deep-processing enterprises of Camellia oleifera, which accelerated the pace of Camellia oleifera industrialization in the county. In 2011, the output value of Camellia oleifera in the county was 250 million yuan. At present, eight camellia professional cooperatives, such as Yikang and Yongfu, have been developed. Relying on cooperatives, local oil-tea farmers have changed from single-handedness to group development, and unified sales and dividends have been implemented for processed tea seed oil, which has improved efficiency.
