Wushan shallot

Wushan Village is located in the northeast of Xinxu Town, Fujian Province. It has been cultivated for more than 40 years since the introduction of shallot varieties in 1968, and local farmers have accumulated rich planting experience. Wushan shallot has been listed as one of the five special agricultural products in Xiang 'an District, and Wushan Village has become the most important shallot planting base in Xiamen and the main distribution center of shallots in southern Fujian. With the strong support and help of the municipal and district governments and other relevant departments, Wushan Village actively supports the development of onion industry and establishes this resource advantage as the construction of one product in one village. In 2007, Wushan Village established Shanggong Green Onion Professional Cooperative, which implemented many measures such as base scale management, pollution-free scientific planting, brand management in marketing, and formed a consortium of production, purchase and marketing. At present, Wushan Village Professional Cooperative has more than 200 members, and there are 46 onion processing and sales outlets in the village. In addition to processing the onions produced in the village, it also buys onion processing from Jinjiang and Putian. At the same time, professional cooperation also organizes farmers to learn scientific planting techniques by inviting agricultural experts to teach, offering production skills training courses, and hiring agricultural experts for practical guidance, so as to give full play to the demonstration and driving role of production bases. Today, the green onion production in Wushan has expanded to many towns in the surrounding areas, and a pollution-free production base of 10,000 mu has been established, with an annual output of more than 45,000 tons and a total output value of 87 million yuan. Wushan shallot has been listed as one of the five special agricultural products in Xiang 'an District, and Wushan Village has become the most important shallot planting base in Xiamen and the main distribution center of shallots in southern Fujian. Wushan shallot is not only sold to Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Chongqing and other provinces and large markets in the province, with an annual transaction volume of 76,000 tons. Some products are dehydrated, dried and processed, and also exported to Taiwan Province, Japan, South Korea and other countries.
