Guoshan vegetables

Guoshan Village, Hongtang Town, Tong 'an District, Xiamen has a total population of 2,800 people and an area of 4,500 mu of cultivated land. The village is a pilot unit of China's plan of rejuvenating the village through science and education, a national demonstration base of purple eggplant cultivation in greenhouse and a demonstration village of science and technology in Fujian Province. With "Guoshan" brand purple eggplant and "Guzhang" brand series of famous brands of vegetables. 98% farmers in the village are engaged in vegetable cultivation, with an annual planting area of 4,500 mu, including 2,300 mu of purple eggplant planting base, with an output value of 46 million yuan. In 2012, the per capita net income of farmers in the village was 15,000 yuan, ranking first in Hongtang Town. It was rated as "Top Ten Farmers' Professional Cooperatives in Xiamen" and "Model Farmers' Professional Cooperatives in Fujian Province". In December 2003, Guoshan Village established "Guoshan Vegetable Association of Tongan District, Xiamen City"; In October 2008, "Xiamen Guoshan Vegetable Professional Cooperative" was established. Cooperatives should unify base construction, production standards and technical guidance, implement large-scale, standardized and high-efficiency production, and vigorously promote pollution-free vegetable cultivation techniques. Cooperatives actively carry out a series of services for members and vegetable farmers before, during and after delivery, and rely on cooperative organizations and markets to drive, initially forming an operating pattern of "cooperatives+markets+farmers". By absorbing farmers' individual disorderly planting into associations or cooperatives, an organized and systematic mode of production, supply and marketing is formed, which promotes the large-scale and efficient development of purple eggplant. More than 2,000 mu of off-season purple nightshade is cultivated by grafting every year. Through grafting cultivation, eggplant can achieve high and stable yield, good quality, resistance to bacterial wilt and root-knot nematodes, prolong the harvest period, and significantly improve the economic benefits, with an output value of 18-30,000 yuan per mu. In 2011, Guoshan Village (Purple Solanum melongena) was recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture as a "National Model Village with One Village and One Product".
