Torreya grandis

Torreya grandis is a specialty of Jingde County, Xuancheng City, Anhui Province. Jingde is located at the eastern foot of Huangshan Mountain, with four distinct seasons, abundant rainfall and moderate illumination, which is an excellent location for planting torreya grandis. Torreya grandis is a national second-class protected plant, which has medicinal, edible, ornamental and ecological values, and has high economic value. It is one of the afforestation trees with development prospects in mountainous areas and has a history of thousands of years. Jingde is one of the few wild torreya grandis growing areas in China. At present, 38,000 mu of Torreya grandis forest has been artificially planted in Anhui Province, and 1,600 mu of seedlings have been planted in patches. Only in Jingde County, the total number of seedlings has reached 500 mu. After three years, nearly 7.5 million seedlings have been planted, which can supply more than 100,000 mu of afforestation in the whole province. Today, there are 85 organizations established in Anhui; There are nearly 10,000 people directly engaged in Torreya grandis industry, including 1,000 people in Jingde County alone.
