Guangde chestnut

Guangde chestnut is a specialty of Guangde County, Xuancheng City, Anhui Province. Guangde chestnut has always been characterized by "big grain, fragrant taste, soft and delicious" and is deeply favored by the public. Guangde County was awarded the title of "Hometown of Chestnut in China" by the State Forestry Administration. Chestnut cultivation in Guangde County has a long history. During Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty, it was famous as a "tribute" in the north and south of the country. The excellent varieties "Dahongpao", "Chushuhong" and "Dayou Chestnut" are well-known throughout the country, and are famous for their stable characters, strong resistance and stable and high yield. It is understood that there are 250,000 mu of chestnut orchards in Guangde County, with an annual output of 7.5 million kilograms. There are 140,000 farmers engaged in chestnut planting in the county.
