There are well-developed whiskers under the jaw, with straight white hair and no cashmere at the base. Xiaoxian white goat has high reproductive rate, good meat production, even mutton fat, tender meat, delicious taste and is loved by the broad masses of people. Xiaoxian white goat skin, which belongs to hankou road, is of high quality and is the first-class raw material in leather industry. It has the advantages of fine structure, good layering performance, soft finished products, beautiful luster and durability, and enjoys a high reputation in domestic and foreign markets. In the hay season from December to April, silage crop straws and hay are supplemented. Xiaoxian white goat breeding area is distributed in 23 towns and villages in the county. In 1986, the annual feeding capacity was 200,000, and since then, it has increased substantially year by year. In 2005, the number of reared animals reached 2.4 million, and 1.5 million were slaughtered, with an annual output of 39,000 tons. Xiaoxian white goat is a geographical indication certification trademark.
