Qimen is rich in porcelain clay, but in ancient times, porcelain production was not much. According to textual research, the production of porcelain in Qimen began at least in the Ming Dynasty, and it was recorded in the book "China Porcelain": "Name of kiln site: Qimen kiln; Location: Qimen County, Anhui Province; Burning year: Ming. " But until the Republic of China, there was only sporadic production, with little impact. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Qimen developed and utilized porcelain clay resources. In 1958, based on the original public-private joint venture Qimen Porcelain Clay Factory, a kiln was set up to start firing porcelain, and a porcelain factory was built in Jinzipai. On the eve of the National Day the following year, the first successful kiln "Gift Porcelain" presented a gift to the 10th anniversary of the National Day. After decades of efforts, there are now many porcelain manufacturers in Qimen, which can produce daily-use porcelain, craft porcelain, tourist porcelain, antique porcelain and other products. Qimen porcelain has a variety of colors, beautiful shapes and exquisite paintings, which not only fully reflects the excellent quality of Qimen porcelain clay, but also reflects the exquisite skills of Qimen porcelain producers. Products are decorated in a variety of ways, including pastels, decals and blue and white, as well as crystalline glaze, colored glaze and various artistic glazes. Among the products, there are various kinds of tableware and utensils such as bowls, pots, cups, plates, spoons and jars. There are all kinds of vases, pen holders, hanging plates, glazed tiles, murals and so on. The "Shuanglong Tea Cup" which came out in 1972 is natural and unique in bamboo shape. The picture is designed according to the legendary Shuanglong playing beads. It is rich and quaint with pastel painting. It once won the quality award of Anhui Light Industry Department and sold well in Southeast Asia and North America. Thin-embryo porcelain is an artistic treasure of Qimen porcelain, which is made of Taihekeng porcelain clay as the basic raw material and carefully made. It is as white as jade, as bright as a mirror, as thin as paper, and as sweet as sound. A thin tire bowl with a diameter of 13.5 cm weighs only 75 grams, and the thinnest part is less than 0.5 mm. The landscape picture on the back can be clearly seen in the light. Qimen Porcelain is well-known at home and abroad. It once refined a batch of welcome pine ashtray and tea set with blue and white, cross and gold for Anhui Hall of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
