Suixi Tiefo seedless watermelon is a specialty of Tiefo Town, Suixi County, Huaibei City, Anhui Province. Tiefo Town, Suixi County has a history of growing watermelons for more than 30 years. In recent years, the town has established a seedless watermelon base of 10,000 mu in seven administrative villages, including Daokou Village and Tiefo, with a planting area of 12,000 mu. Watermelon in this town has excellent varieties, large size, sandy pulp, thin skin and good taste, and is recognized as Fumi brand green food by the state. Tiefo Town is located about 23 kilometers southwest of Suixi County, Huaibei City. It is 45 kilometers east of Suzhou and 15 kilometers west of yongcheng city. The territory is flat, with Suyong Highway, Suiyue Highway and Baitie Highway crossing. The Xuchang-Huai 'an Expressway under construction will cross the south of the town, and the traffic is convenient. The town has jurisdiction over 26 villages with 119,000 people and 253,000 mu of arable land, with a total area of 223.03 square kilometers. The territory is flat, Siyong Road, Suiyue Road and White Railway intersect, and the planned Huai (Yin) Xuchang Expressway will cross the south of our town with convenient transportation. Tiefo Town was called Tiefo Temple in ancient times. Legend has it that it was named after an iron Buddha statue that descended from the sky. It has a long history and rich cultural heritage. Tiefo Town is located in the southwest of Suixi County, bordering yongcheng city in the west, with an area of 256.7 square kilometers and a population of 119,000. It governs 37 administrative villages with convenient transportation and rich resources. The terrain in the town is flat, the Tuohe River passes through the territory from west to east, and six main ditches, such as Xinjian ditch, Qinggou ditch and Suidi ditch, cross the east and west. Fertile land, the town's arable land area of 218,000 mu, is a typical agricultural town. Through the implementation of comprehensive agricultural development, the town has now formed 160,000 mu of high-quality wheat production bases, 10,000 mu of seedless watermelon production bases and 8 animal husbandry production bases. Tiefo Town has been planting high-quality watermelons as an industry for 10 years, which originated in Daokou Village. Daokou Village introduced seedless watermelons from Suzhou Watermelon Association, and became famous two years later. In 2005, the varieties were updated and planted with high-quality brands such as "Dongting No.1", "Dongting No.3" and "Zhengkang No.5" in Hunan and Henan. The new varieties have excellent quality and quickly entered foreign markets such as Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi, Shanghai, Fujian, Guangdong and Guizhou. In the process of developing high-quality watermelons, the Seedless Watermelon Association and Tiefo Town Agriculture, Industry and Commerce Company were established by Daokou Village. As institutions for promoting and developing high-quality watermelons, they registered the trademark of "Fumi" and were recognized as green food by the National Green Food Development Center.
