Patch painting

Patch painting is made of coarse cloth, dyed with bagged dyes at high temperature to make various colors, and cut and pasted by skillful women. Yanchuan County, named by the Ministry of Culture as the "National Modern Folk Art Painting Town", is located in the hinterland of the Loess Plateau and on the bank of the Yellow River east of Yan 'an. Influenced by the Ordos grassland and infiltrated by Mongolian and Chinese folk arts, its folk traditional art has a unique charm. On the basis of local traditional folk paper-cutting, embroidery, murals and cloth-sticking techniques, people in Yanchuan, starting from their lives, use local materials, use cloth pieces of different colors, textures and shapes, and create cloth-sticking paintings with relief images through sewing and patchwork. The so-called sewing is a large-scale collage, including sticking, sewing, mosaic and splicing; The so-called patchwork is a small area of decorative patterns, that is, a piece of cloth with cloth patterns is pasted, sewn and inlaid on a piece of base cloth.
