Huaiyuan snakehead is a specialty of Huaiying Village, Huaiyuan County, Bengbu City, Anhui Province. Black snakehead is a rare freshwater fish with high economic value, and it is called "the treasure in fish". Snakehead sells well at home and abroad, and its price is expensive. It is one of the important aquatic products exported by China's foreign trade, and it is also a kind of food with tight demand and high price in the domestic market. Zhaoying Village, Huaiyuan County, Anhui Province, is located along the Cihuai New River, with good water source conditions and suitable for developing famous aquaculture. With the support of the county fisheries bureau, the village has developed snakehead culture for 15 years, and the comprehensive supporting culture technology level has been continuously improved. Since 2003, the artificial propagation of snakehead was successfully explored, and the "bottleneck" problem of fry was solved. Subsequently, the professional cooperative of Cihuai snakehead breeding was established to drive the surrounding farmers to develop large-scale breeding. At present, the village has developed more than 1,000 mu of snakehead culture area, of which 40% are fry culture area, the yield of adult fish reaches 2,500 kg, and the high-yield pond reaches 5,000 kg. The annual output of snakehead in the village is 1.5 million kg, with an output value of 36 million yuan. Products are exported to Henan, Hubei, Nanjing and other places, becoming a pillar industry for local farmers to increase their income and get rich. Since the beginning of this year, the county is actively expanding the scale of artificial breeding of snakehead, popularizing demonstration ecological farming technology, reducing density, improving quality, opening up markets, increasing product popularity, further expanding and strengthening snakehead farming characteristic industries, and promoting farmers' income.
