Laorui sesame oil is a specialty of Taoxin Town, Wuhu County, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. Laorui sesame oil adopts the original ecological ancient wood pressing technology to produce mellow, rich and unique wood pressing sesame oil, which is fragrant for miles. The technological feature of wood oil pressing is that rapeseed and sesame raw materials are pressed into edible oil by manpower with the help of wood pressing equipment, and no chemical leaching agent, preservative and essence are added, thus ensuring the authentic and pure oil products, rich in nutrition and safe to eat. In the Tang Dynasty, there was a historical record of wood-pressed oil as a tribute to the imperial court. The technological process was as follows: firstly, the raw rapeseed was removed with a windmill, fried in a wok, ground in a trough, pressed with a wooden mallet, and then precipitated and drained. Wood oil should be stored for a week before eating. The mallets used in oil press tank and pressing are generally made of sandalwood and chestnut. Lao Rui's "Wood Oil Mill" squeezes more than 300 tons of rapeseed annually, and the rapeseed oil and sesame oil it squeezes are famous in the market. "Laorui Oil Workshop" has an indissoluble bond with tourism. It is a designated production enterprise of tourism commodities in Wuhu City, a county-level intangible cultural heritage enterprise, and an important part of the national agricultural tourism demonstration site of Taoxin Shuiyun (3A-level scenic spot). In 2011, Youfang will speed up the declaration of provincial intangible cultural heritage, and rely on the "Taoxin Shuiyun" scenic spot to create the brand characteristics of "Laorui Youfang" wood mustard oil and sesame oil, actively declare and register famous trademarks and national green products in Anhui Province, form a joint mechanism of company+farmer+base, do a good job in the industrial chain, and press wood with ancient technology, one of the largest remaining wood oil mills in China.
