Jingning shiitake mushroom

Jingning is one of the most important places of origin and main producing areas of Lentinus edodes, and it is one of the earliest places named "the hometown of Lentinus edodes in China". Jingning mushroom is a specialty of Jingning County, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province. Jingning is one of the cradles of cultivated Lentinus edodes in the world. In 1996, it was named "the hometown of Lentinus edodes in China" by the Ministry of Agriculture. Jingning Lentinus edodes, according to the "History and Culture of Mushroom Cultivation in China" edited by edible fungi experts Zhang Shoucheng and Lai Minyi, the cultivation of Lentinus edodes originated from the 1,300-square-kilometer mushroom community centered on Longyan Village, the residence of founder Wu Sangong, which is connected by Longquan, Qingyuan and Jingning counties in Zhejiang, China. The three counties of Long, Qing and Jing have also preached for generations that mushrooms are imperial patents. In the 19th year of Qing Daoguang (1839), a mushroom temple was built in Baokengkou, Jingning. Every year, from July 13th of the lunar calendar, the mushroom fragrance period lasted for ten consecutive days, which has continued to this day. Jingning is one of the birthplaces of artificial cultivation of Lentinus edodes in the world, which has a history of cultivation of Lentinus edodes for more than 800 years. There are more than 10 cultivated varieties of edible fungi, such as Lentinus edodes, Auricularia auricula, Pleurotus ostreatus, Flammulina velutipes, Pleurotus eryngii and Agrocybe aegerita. In 2008, the county produced 52.94 million bags of edible fungi with an output value of 171.09 million yuan, which is one of the pillar industries for farmers to increase their income and get rich. In 1995, "Shanshan" brand shiitake mushrooms and auricularia auricula both won the gold medal in the second China Agricultural Expo. In 1999 and 2001, they were awarded the famous brand products in China International Agricultural Expo, and in 2000, they won the gold medal in Zhejiang Agricultural Expo. In 2006, Jingning Lentinus edodes was rated as one of the "Top Ten Famous Mushrooms in Zhejiang". Jingning has been rated as an advanced county of edible fungi production in China by China Edible Fungi Association for many times. In 1996, it was named "China Mushroom Town" by the Ministry of Agriculture.
