Shexiang: During the Spring Festival, Qingyuan has the custom of "branding Shexiang". Every spring, there is a herb with yellow flowers on the ridges and wet slopes, commonly known as "Shequ" (scientific name "Cuckweed"). In the spring festival season, the buds of social songs begin to grow, and women gather them in groups of three and five, and then put them in a mortar to make a sticky paste, which is blended with glutinous rice paste and branded into a pancake, called "social cake". Its green color is attractive, its taste is fragrant and delicious, and it also has medicinal effects such as relieving cough, regulating qi and drying dampness.
