Wild Dendrobium candidum: also known as chlorophytum, is a perennial herb of Orchidaceae. Growing in high mountains, cliffs and crevices of rocks. In 1987, the State Council listed Dendrobium candidum as one of the key protected Chinese herbal medicines. Compendium of Materia Medica holds that it has the magical effects of strengthening yin and nourishing essence, thickening the stomach, calming stomach qi, growing muscles, calming the mind and relieving convulsions, and prolonging life. Polysaccharides contained in Dendrobium candidum can obviously enhance the immune function of T cells in cancer patients and improve the immune ability of human body.
