Qingyuan Tea There are two kinds of tea: green tea and black tea, which were used as tributes to Beijing in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The highest annual output in history (35 years of the Republic of China) reached 100 tons, and the tea garden area was 5410 mu. Since then, the tea garden has been deserted, with an output of only 23 tons by 1949. After the founding of New China, tea production recovered and developed, reaching 543 tons in 1989. Jasper Spring, created by Qingyuan Tea Farm, won the first-class famous tea award in Zhejiang Province for its bright color, sweet and refreshing taste. Citrus used to be sporadic, and the varieties were mostly local oranges. After the founding of New China, a small amount of citrus was introduced from other places in 1960s. In 1972, with the support of the county government, Wenzhou tangerine was introduced into Yucun and Kengxi, and it was successful. In 1990, the county's citrus planting area was 767 mu, with an output of 2,243 tons. The varieties were Wenzhou tangerine, Ponkan, Sweet Citrus, etc., and the producing areas were distributed in Yucun, Houtian, Badu, Zhukou, Huangtian, Xiaoan, Zhang Cun and other places. Among them, Wenzhou tangerine (a mid-mature variety of Shantian strain) produced in Yucun was characterized by its smooth fruit surface, deep and soft color.
