Qingyuan Kiwifruit is a specialty of qingyuan county, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province. Qingyuan county is one of the origins of kiwifruit, which was first cultivated and utilized artificially more than 300 years ago. Kiwi, commonly known as rattan pear, is wild and distributed all over qingyuan county, especially in the slopes or bushes of valleys at an altitude of 600-1300m, with an annual output of about 300 tons. In 1982, qingyuan county Academy of Agricultural Sciences established an artificial cultivation base in Pengqiao to introduce New Zealand "Hayward" and other fine varieties, from which an excellent new variety of "Qingyuan Qiu Cui" with early production and high yield was selected. In 1992, the cultivated area of kiwifruit in qingyuan county reached 5,250 mu, with an output of 1,000 tons. It was processed into kiwifruit juice, kiwifruit beverage, kiwifruit wine and kiwifruit preserved fruit for sale.
