Mountain crane bayberry is a specialty of Qingtian in Lishui, Zhejiang Province. Myrica rubra has a long history of artificial cultivation in Qingtian. According to the Qing Guangxu County Records of Qingtian, there are three kinds of Myrica rubra: red is better than white, and purple is better than red. The one who produces Jiku Liao in the seasonal cave is the best, and there are traditional varieties such as Xiakeng plum, Kuishi plum, Chashan plum and black charcoal plum, which enjoy a good reputation. Bayberry (Myrica rubra) produced in qingtian county is known as "Ping Pong Myrica rubra" because of its early maturity, large fruit, beautiful shape and delicious taste. "Shanhe" brand Myrica rubra has a soluble solid content of 12%, the maximum single fruit weight is 72 grams, with an average of more than 25 grams. It is purple-black, fleshy, soft, juicy, rich in flavor, small in kernel, beautiful in appearance, bright in color, sweet and sour, and delicious. It has been evaluated as an excellent fruit by the testing agency of the Ministry of Agriculture, and it has been recognized as a brand-name product at the China International Agricultural Expo, a gold medal agricultural product of the Zhejiang Agricultural Expo. The county was recognized as "the hometown of Myrica rubra in China".
