Myrica rubra

Xilu Village is the main producing area of "the hometown of Myrica rubra in China" and the birthplace of "Xianmei", which won the gold medal of 99 Beijing International Agricultural Expo. Its Myrica rubra is famous for its big cause and effect, small core, black color and sweet taste. Based on the advantages of mountain resources in Xilu Village, the policy of "unified planning, individual planting and village group support" has been formulated, making Myrica rubra a a leading industry to strengthen the village and enrich the people. From 1986 to 1987 alone, the village developed 405 mu of early-maturing and well-bred water chestnut Myrica rubra, becoming the first improved Myrica rubra base in Taizhou. At present, 2870 mu of Myrica rubra in the village has reached the pollution-free standard, of which 1241 mu has passed the certification of green agricultural products. In 2004, Xilu Village invested more than 1.3 million yuan to build the largest Yangmei trading center in the county-Xilu Yangmei Market, and invested 200,000 yuan in expansion and infrastructure improvement in 2010. At present, this market has become the largest Yangmei trading market in Zhejiang Province and even the whole country. In order to effectively maintain the brand of "Xianmei", Xilu Village has always attached great importance to the quality and safety of Yangmei, and ensured the quality and safety of Yangmei by increasing investment in facilities, expanding publicity, strengthening anti-counterfeiting and perfecting the quality supervision system. Its brand products "Xian" brand Yangmei and "Juxianzhuang" brand Yangmei dry wine were recognized as national green food. In 2009, Xilu Village successively invested 2.05 million yuan to build a modern Myrica rubra demonstration park, and built it into a tourism park with participation, interest, experience and knowledge, which not only enhanced the popularity of "Xilu Myrica rubra", but also increased the income of villagers. In 2010, the total output value of Xilu Village reached 16.35 million yuan, the per capita income of villagers was 12,130 yuan, and the village appearance of Xilu Village was greatly improved.
