Shengsi mussel

Mussels, commonly known as mussels, are also called sea red (Mrs. Donghai), a bivalve mollusk that lives on seashore rocks and is widely distributed along the coast of China. Mytilus is a popular seafood, which can be steamed and cooked. It has high nutritional value and certain medicinal value, and is known as the "egg in the sea". According to the analysis, 100 grams of fresh mussel meat contains 10.8 grams of protein, 2.4 grams of sugar, 2.4 grams of ash and 1.4 grams of fat, and the protein content of dried mussel meat is as high as 59.3%. Mussels also contain various vitamins and trace elements such as manganese, zinc, selenium and iodine, which are necessary for human body. The high nutritional value of mussels is also due to its eight essential amino acids, such as valine and leucine, which protein needs. The culture of mussels in Shengsi County began in 1973. In that year, 3,000 kg of purple mussel seedlings were shipped from Dalian for trial culture, and it was successful. Later, through years of efforts by researchers, continuous progress was made in the aspects of transporting mussels from north to south, artificial seedling raising, seedling collection in natural sea areas, deep processing, etc., and there were 6 towns involved in breeding. In 2001, Lycium barbarum was named "Hometown of Mussels" by Zhejiang Ocean and Fisheries Bureau. In 2003, Shengsi County was rated as a provincial demonstration park of 10,000 mu mussel industrialization. In 2005, the mussel culture area in the county has reached 16,365 mu, with an output of 48,808 tons. On August 26th, 2010, Fang Min, executive deputy head of Shengsi County, received the gold plaque of "Hometown of Mussels in China" from Lin Yi, executive vice president of China Fishery Association. This is another honor that Shengsi mussel won after it won the provincial demonstration park of mussel industrialization of 10,000 mu, the producing area of pollution-free agricultural products and the first collective trademark of geographical indications of marine products in China. The development of mussel breeding industry in Shengsi has gone through three stages: in the 1970s, mussels in the whole county were totally dependent on natural growth and artificial excavation, which resulted in low production efficiency; After 1973, the artificial culture of mussel raft began to be popularized on a large scale in the county, and the output value increased rapidly. After entering the 21st century, with the rise of processing industry, mussel products began to be exported. Shengsi mussel is a geographical indication protection product. Shengsi mussel is a geographical indication certification trademark.
