Gaoxie pomelo

Gaoxie Fragrant Pomelo is a famous local pomelo in Zhoushan City. Its products are of high quality and have been cultivated for nearly a hundred years. According to textual research, the mother tree was planted and propagated by a crew member of Miaohouzhuang Village, Gaoxie Village, Bai Quan Town, Dinghai in the early 1930s. Because of its excellent fruit quality, it has been valued and developed by the government. Up to now, the planting area of Bai Quan Town is more than 3,000 mu, and the whole area is 13,000 mu, with annual sales of 10 million yuan and profits of 5 million yuan. Gaoxie Xiangyou is an evergreen small arbor fruit tree, with open tree shape, natural round head shape or semi-circle, dense branches and leaves, high steamed bread shape or pear shape, single fruit weighing 1200-1500 grams, mature peel orange and strong aroma. The sponge layer and the flesh layer are white or slightly pink, with about 13-14 flaps. The flesh color is crystal clear, crisp and tender, and the juice is suitable. The slagging property is good. The soluble solids are 13%, the total sugar is 11.8%, the total acid is 0.92%, the ratio of sugar to acid is 12.8:1, the water content of the flesh is 85.7%, and the juice cell rate is generally 45-50. Gaoxiexiang pomelo has high yield and good stability. Generally, it begins to bear fruit in 4-5 years after planting, with a plant yield of more than 7.5 kg. It enters the full fruit stage in 8-10 years, with a plant yield of 100-150 kg in 10-20 years. The fruit maturity period is from late October to early November, and the fruit is not easy to crack and resistant to storage. After harvesting, it can generally be stored in April of the following year and still maintain excellent flavor. Putuoshan brand Gaoxiexiang pomelo has attracted the attention of horticulture circles because of its excellent quality. It won the first prize in the pomelo appraisal of Zhoushan City (including more than 20 varieties introduced from other places) for three consecutive years from 1992 to 1994, won the second prize in the citrus appraisal of the whole province in 1997, and won the silver prize of provincial high-quality agricultural products in 1998 and 2001. Over the years, the products have been very popular in the market, becoming a pillar industry of the local agricultural economy and one of the key agricultural backbone industries supported by Dinghai District.
