Zhoushan shell carving

Zhoushan shell carving is a kind of arts and crafts which uses local shells as raw materials, and according to the natural color, luster and texture of shells, it is carved into landscapes, figures, landscapes, flowers and birds with both spirit and shape. Qu Yuan, Four Famous Doctors, Putuo in Nanhai and other works won awards at the national appraisal meeting, among which Qu Yuan, with its peculiar artistic conception and exquisite craftsmanship, reproduces the magnificent picture in Nine Songs, eulogizes the bumpy and magnificent life of the great patriotic poet Qu Yuan, and won the second prize of Hundred Flowers Award Excellent Creation of National Arts and Crafts. The large-scale shell painting screen of Guanyin Crossing the South China Sea was selected by Prince Sihanouk in 1988 as a treasure collection.
