Lanxi Yangmei is a specialty of Lanxi City, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province. Myrica rubra in Majian, Lanxi is of good quality, with big fruit and small stone, sweet and sour taste, purple and black, and rich in cellulose, mineral elements, vitamins, a certain amount of protein, pectin, fat and 8 kinds of amino acids beneficial to human body. Lanxi is the hometown of Myrica rubra in China, and the largest main producing area of Myrica rubra in central and western Zhejiang Province, with a long history of cultivation. The existing area of Myrica rubra in the city is 65,000 mu, including 60,000 mu of commercial plum, with an output of 15,000 tons in 2009 and an annual output value of 126 million yuan. The main cultivated varieties are water chestnut, Dongkui, Muyemei, etc. They are mainly distributed in the loess slope and hillside slope of Yunshan, Xiangxi, Majian, Baishe and other towns (streets) along the 47 provincial highway Lanpu, forming a unique "Five Mile Myrica rubra Corridor". Myrica rubra in Lanxi is famous for its early listing and excellent quality. Generally, it is listed at the end of May and early June, about 7-10 days earlier than other main producing areas of Myrica rubra. The produced Myrica rubra is of excellent quality, with large fruit and small core, sweet and sour taste, dark purple and bright, rich in cellulose, mineral elements, vitamins, a certain amount of protein, pectin, fat and 8 kinds of amino acids beneficial to human body. The content of calcium, phosphorus and iron in its fruit is 10% higher than that in other fruits. It has won the Jinhua Fine Fruit Exhibition, the Gold Award of East China Agricultural Fair and the Gold Award of Zhejiang Agricultural Expo for many times, and was awarded as a famous brand product and a famous trademark of Jinhua City. In 2003 and 2007, it was awarded as one of the top ten fine bayberry in Zhejiang Province, a famous brand in Zhejiang Province in 2005, a famous trademark certification in Zhejiang Province in 2008, and a certification of green food, pollution-free agricultural products and a forest food base in Zhejiang Province.
