Shengzhou angora rabbit is a specialty of Shengzhou City, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. Shengzhou angora rabbit has high wool yield, large size, low coarse wool content, good wool quality, good adaptability, strong disease resistance and stable genetic performance. It is a high-quality angora rabbit variety independently cultivated in Zhejiang Province. Shengzhou belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate zone, with the highest temperature of 43℃, the lowest temperature of minus 6℃ and the average annual temperature of 13-15℃. Four distinct seasons, suitable climate, abundant rainfall and rich forage. Shengzhou angora rabbit is white and shiny; The whole body (especially the abdomen) has a high density of coat hair, with dense hair behind the neck and no skin, slightly curved coat hair, obvious tuft structure, rich hand kneading, full foot hair, and thick cheeks, which is fine hair type. Three out of every five long-haired rabbits in China are from Shengzhou. The long-haired rabbit industry in Shengzhou is based on cultivating excellent breeding rabbits, relying on the purchase, processing and export of rabbit hair. The breeding rabbits are sold all over the country, and the rabbit hair is exported all over the world, realizing the reorganization of agricultural resources and complementary advantages in a wider range, promoting industrial development and driving farmers to increase their income. At present, there are 50,000 farmers raising rabbits in Shengzhou City, and more than 1 million long-haired rabbits are raised annually. Every year, more than 300,000 fine long-haired rabbits are sold outside the province, and more than 600 tons of rabbit hair are processed and exported. The annual output value of rabbit industry reaches 150 million yuan. There are more than 2,500 households whose annual income exceeds 10,000 yuan and more than 500 households whose annual income exceeds 100,000 yuan.
