Shaoxing orchid

Shaoxing is one of the earliest places to plant orchids in China. According to historical records, Gou Jian, the king of Yue, planted orchids at the foot of Lanzhu Mountain more than 2,400 years ago. Yue Jue Shu says, "Gou Jian planted orchids in Lanzhu Mountain". According to preliminary investigation, there are 27 famous orchid species named by Shaoxing people. According to statistics, there are more than 20 orchids in the city, of which Shaoxing County accounts for more than 70%. There are more than 8,000 pots of orchids in Shaoxing County, mainly distributed in Lizhu and Tangdi, with Lizhu Garden as the most, with more than 3,000 pots and more than 100 varieties of orchids. There is an exotic species "Lv Yun", which is a rare resource under national protection. In addition, Song Mei, Chenghai, Liangshenmei, Cuigaihe, and Jindisu are all treasures in orchids. Shaoxing orchids are sold all over the country. Shaoxing orchids are found in three professional "National Orchid Gardens": Zhongshan Park in Beijing, Shanghai Botanical Garden and Hangzhou Garden. Shaoxing orchids not only enjoy a good reputation in China, but also are exported to Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Britain, the United States and other countries and regions (Shaoxing). Shaoxing orchids are geographical indication products of agricultural products.
