Tongxiang Hu sheep is a specialty of Tongxiang, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province. Tongxiang Hu sheep has a long history of breeding, and its ancestors are Mongolian sheep in the north. According to records, it began in the Song Dynasty, and "Jia Tai Wu Xingzhi" recorded that in the Song Dynasty, "Wu Yang was abundant in Jiashi area". The unique "Sangshan Yehai" has made the Huyang industry in Tongxiang develop rapidly. According to the survey statistics, the amount of Hu sheep raised in Tongxiang has always accounted for more than one-third of the country's total, ranking first in the county-level cities in China. Last year, the number of sheep in Tongxiang Lake reached 223,800, and the number of sheep released reached 300,000.
