Shen Yongchang, the founder of Yidasi No.,a famous silk brand in Wuzhen, has a son named Shen Xuewen. After he inherited his father's business, he decided to replace traditional products with brocade products after many investigations in order to get rid of the dilemma of slow sales of traditional wood-based cotton silk in the market. In 1923, he personally selected more than ten apprentices to study brocade technology in Hangzhou, Suzhou and Nanjing. After several years' hard work and repeated trial-production, the brocade flower machine with nearly 2,000 parts and more than 100 processes was finally built. It takes more than a hundred days for the big flower building machine to draw the artist's map and weave the finished product. The weaving process is extremely complicated, and only 5-6 cm can be woven in one day, which can be described as "an inch of gold". Wujin is woven from the best natural silk, and some products are also woven with pure gold thread. The woven brocade is solid and elegant. Locals call it "Wujin", which absorbs China's famous brocade technology and combines local traditional characteristics.
