Yaozhuang mushrooms

Yaozhuang Town is located in the northeast of Jiashan County, Zhejiang Province, and is adjacent to Qingpu District and Jinshan District of Shanghai in the east. With a single-season planting area of more than 10,007,100 square feet and an annual output of more than 8,000 tons, Yaozhuang mushroom is the largest mushroom distribution center in northern Zhejiang. Yaozhuang mushroom sells well in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Fujian provinces and one city, and is awarded the title of "Mushroom Town of China". Mushroom-based edible fungus production is the leading industry of Yaozhuang agriculture and the leading area of Jiashan "white" industrial belt. Yaozhuang mushroom cultivation started in the 1960s, and has grown to 19.36 million square feet, making it the largest mushroom production base in northern Zhejiang. The total output reached 15,000 tons and the total income reached 45 million yuan. At present, more than 50% of farmers in the town grow mushrooms, including more than 120 large farmers with a square foot or more. Mushroom industry is one of the leading industries in Yaozhuang to realize agricultural efficiency and increase farmers' income. Farmers in Yaozhuang Town have a long history of planting mushrooms, which started in the 1960s. Due to considerable economic benefits, it has developed rapidly in recent years. By the end of 2004, the town's multiple cropping area reached 19.36 million square feet, with a total output of nearly 14,000 tons. At present, Yaozhuang Town has become the largest distribution center for the production and sales of fresh mushrooms and salted mushrooms in our province. Fresh mushrooms are mainly sold to Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and other places, and salted mushrooms are mainly sold to Shandong and Fujian. In December, 2002, Yaozhuang Town was named "Mushroom Town of China" by China Association for Development and Service of High-quality Agricultural Products. In 2003, "Jinxue" brand mushrooms were considered as "Zhejiang Famous Brand" and "Jiaxing Famous Brand Product". In the same year, they were awarded "Zhejiang Green Agricultural Products" and were recognized as "pollution-free agricultural products" by the Agricultural Products Quality and Safety Center of the Ministry of Agriculture. In 2004, "Jinxue" brand mushroom was awarded the gold medal at Zhejiang Agricultural Expo, and now it is striving for "Zhejiang famous brand agricultural products" and "green food". The protection scope of Yaozhuang mushroom geographical indication products is subject to the scope proposed in the Letter on the Protection Scope of Yaozhuang mushroom geographical indication products (Shanzheng [2005] No.9) in Jiashan County, Zhejiang Province, and it is the administrative area under the jurisdiction of Yaozhuang Town in Jiashan County, Zhejiang Province.
