Yandangxiang fish

Known as one of the "Five Treasures of the Wild Mountain" since ancient times, it was a tribute during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Fragrant fish, belonging to the family Fragrant Fish, is an upstream small and medium-sized fish. Adult fish is 15-20cm long and weighs 60-120g. Its body length is flat, its head is small and its mouth is pointed, its back is gray and black, and its abdomen is silvery white. There is a balsam cavity on the back of the fragrant fish, which can emit fragrance, hence the name. Fragrant fish often inhabit shallow, thin and low-temperature tonghai streams, scraping moss on rocks for a living. Because the meat is tender and fatty, delicious and unique, it is praised as the "king of freshwater fish" by the international cooking, tourism and fishing circles. Puxi Bay in Yandang, Songbo River, Jinzhujian River and Furong Golden River are all rich in fragrant fish, especially in Shimentan in Dajing. Fragrant fish is not suitable for fresh eating, but smoked and dried, with a color like gold and a very fragrant taste. The common name is "dried fragrant fish", which is not bad after long storage. It is said that it can carry thousands of miles.
