Myrica rubra

Myrica rubra is a specialty of Gaolou Town, Ruian City, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. The black charcoal plum and Dongkui plum in Rui 'an high-rise building are famous for their large fruit, fine meat, rich juice and sweet taste. Myrica rubra has been cultivated in Rui 'an for more than 200 years, mainly distributed in Feiyunjiang River valley. It has passed the national pollution-free agricultural products and forest food certification in Zhejiang Province, reached the national selenium-enriched fruit and vegetable standards, and won many awards in the evaluation of Myrica rubra in provinces and cities. The existing planting area of Myrica rubra in Ruian is 66,000 mu, with an annual output of 17,000 tons and an annual output of over 100 million yuan. Myrica rubra products are exported to Italy, the Netherlands and other countries. Gaolou Town is the largest producing area of Myrica rubra in Zhejiang, mainly producing three varieties of Myrica rubra, namely, Black Charcoal Plum, Dongkui and Oriental Pearl. In 2012, the planting area of Myrica rubra in Gaolou Town reached 18,000 mu, which is a veritable "hometown of Myrica rubra".
