Wenzhou colored stone mosaic

Wenzhou colored stone mosaic is a combination of stone carving and wood carving. In the eighth year of Guangxu (1882), Pan Aming, an old artist from Yongjia, began to use Qingtian colored stone chips to inlay mahogany and rosewood. Since then, artists have been constantly innovating and creating, in addition to hanging mirrors and small-screen handicrafts, couplets, hanging screens, site screens, boxes and so on have been added. In the 9th year of the Republic of China (1920), it was sold to the Nanyang Islands and participated in the Tokyo International Exhibition. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Wang Peizhen and Wu Zhende, the old artists of Wenzhou Art Carving Factory, created the colored stone mosaic of Eight Inventors in Ancient China and displayed it in the Great Hall of the People. Jin Jirui created "Le Shou Yuan Jiang" (colored stone screen) and sent it to the Fu Lan Fair in Asia-Pacific Region of Singapore for exhibition.
