Zhouxiang huanghuali

Huanghuali was first carefully cultivated by Professor Shen Dexu from the Horticulture Department of Zhejiang University. Huanghuali belongs to the sand pear variety, which was introduced and planted in zhouxiang town in 1984, and was officially named "the hometown of Huanghuali in China" by the Committee in 1996. The fruit of Huanghua pear is conical, and the skin is yellowish brown. Generally, a single fruit weighs about 250 grams. The core is small, the meat is white and crisp, the juice is rich and sweet, and the taste is obviously better than that of ordinary pears. In particular, Huanghua pear can ripen in mid-August. At this time, northern pears such as dangshan pear, Laiyang pear and Yali pear are not listed, so Huanghua pear has naturally become a fresh fruit in people's homes. After 1989, in order to further expand the market, fruit farmers in Zhouxiang and other places introduced Mr. Lin Qiuhong from Nantou County, Taiwan Province to rent a pear garden in Zhouxiang through attracting investment. A set of advanced cultivation techniques, such as pruning, happiness, dwarfing, fruit thinning and bagging, were quickly passed on to the surrounding fruit farmers, which brought great vitality to the production of huanghuali in zhouxiang town, not only improved the quality of huanghuali, but also made it go abroad for the first time. On the other hand, fruit farmers also introduced early-maturing sand pear varieties such as Xizilv, Cuiguan and Crispy Green, which extended the supply period of southern honey pears, not only enriched the fruit markets in Ningbo and Cixi, but also expanded the ranks of pear families, making a good step for the rational adjustment of agricultural structure. The town has a total pear cultivation area of 14,000 mu, with an annual output of more than 30,000 tons and a total output value of more than 34 million yuan. The base has a Taiwanese-owned enterprise-Taiyi Agriculture Co., Ltd., a scientific research institution-Cixi Huanghuali Research Institute, and an industry association-Zhouxiang Huanghuali Association. The pear orchard in the town has carried out techniques such as happy pruning, shed cultivation, pear bagging and integrated pest control, and the quality of pears has been greatly improved. Secretary of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee 1 visited Liyuan in person and was praised as a model of benefit agriculture. In 1997, "Runchang Milli Pear Trademark" was registered, and "Runchang" brand Milli Pear won the famous brand of 99 International Agricultural Expo, the famous brand of Zhejiang Agriculture in 2000 and the green agricultural product of Zhejiang Province in 2002. Huanghua pear is early mature and disease-resistant, with good quality and expanding cultivation area, and has gradually become the main variety of sand pear in Ningbo. By 2000, the planting area of huanghuali in Cixi City had reached 46,000 mu, of which zhouxiang town was more than 30,000 mu. In 1996, the "Hometown of Huanghuali in China" named by the Naming Committee of China's Hometown of Specialty was also the birthplace of the introduction and promotion of huanghuali in Zhejiang Province.
