Embroidered shoes are a wonderful work of folk embroidery art in Yuyao, Yuedi. According to legend, the custom of embroidering shoes flourished in the Southern Song Dynasty and was deeply influenced by the northern custom of embroidery needle. Embroidered shoes, also known as "flower shoes", are designed with local flowers of four seasons, and there are four kinds of embroidery methods: catching embroidery, braiding embroidery, zipper embroidery and straight embroidery. Lines used: commonly used are "red", "green" and "yellow", commonly known as "Yuyao tricolor flower line". Shoes are embroidered, one is embroidered in the middle of the upper, and the other is embroidered at the joint of the upper. The pattern is symmetrical and beautiful. At present, there are still stitches in the Northern Song Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty. In the 1980s, people from Taiwan and Hong Kong still came to Yuyao to inspect this embroidery custom. There are seven types of shoes: 1. Children's embroidered shoes. There are mainly "baby darling shoes" (also known as "iris shoes"), "tiger flower shoes", "dog flower shoes" and "lion head shoes". The common feature is to pay attention to a pair of big eyes in the upper pattern. 2, girls spend shoes. The main shoe styles are "Butterfly Wear Plum Blossom Shoes", "Chimonanthus Camellia Shoes" and "Yangliuchun Basket". 3. Bride embroidered shoes. There are three kinds of shoes: step cake shoes, wedding shoes and bride shoes. With a pattern, I wish my wedding a hundred years and reconciliation. 4. Middle-aged women wear shoes. The main flower shoes are "Lan Caihe Flower Shoes", which are composed of lotus flowers, orchids and plum blossoms, which combine family and beauty and lead a healthy life; "Three Plum Blossom Shoes" are composed of Chun Mei, Chimonanthus praecox and other flowers, supplemented by lotus patterns, with high quality and diligence. 5, embroidered shoes for the elderly. There are many kinds of shoes with profound meanings. The main types of shoes are: birthday flower shoes, three lotus flowers shoes, eight immortals flower shoes, lotus flower shoes, eternal heart shoes, longevity shoes, longevity shoes, and perfect shoes. 6. Shouxie embroidered shoes. There are mainly two pairs of shoes for funeral. One is "Three Lotus Evergreen Flower Shoes", which is composed of three lotus flowers and evergreen patterns, which means stepping on lotus flowers, entering the Buddhist country and shading descendants. The second is "Lotus Shoes of Xianqiao", which consists of lotus flowers and bridges. There are lotus leaves and lotus roots under the bridge, symbolizing stepping on Xianqiao and entering fairyland. 7, widow flower shoes. There is only one pair, called "Three Orchid Shoes", which consists of three orchids, and the petals are mainly blue, symbolizing high quality and chastity of widows.
