Xiangshan Wuzi Myrica rubra is a specialty of Xiangshan County, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. Xiangshan Wuzi Myrica rubra is well received by consumers because of its large fruit and high quality, and has won unanimous praise from people in the industry. In 2003, it was rated as "Top Ten Myrica rubra" in Zhejiang Province and a green agricultural product in Ningbo. Wuzi Myrica rubra is a local variety in Xiangshan County. It is named after its purple-black fruit when it is ripe. It is a local popular name, also known as "Jiamei". It is said that it has been cultivated in Xiangshan for more than 500 years. Myrica rubra (Myrica rubra) in Xiangshan is vigorous, with round and medium-sized fruit, with an average single fruit weight of 18.5g, the maximum of which is over 30g, slightly smaller than that of Myrica rubra in Dongkui. The fruit surface is purple-black, shiny, with thick pulp, rich juice, sweet and sour taste, and the soluble solid content is above 11.0%, up to 14.0%, and the acid content is about 1%. The stone is slightly larger, sticky, hard and storable. The ripening period is in the middle and late June, about 5 days earlier than Dongkui Myrica rubra. In 2001, Linte Department of Xiangshan County found that there were more than 100 large fruit-shaped Myrica rubra trees named "Wuzi Damei" scattered in Jiaotou Village of Xiaotang Township. Compared with other local "Jiamei" (charcoal plum) plants, it had the characteristics of large fruit, early maturity and excellent quality. This Myrica rubra variety has been popularized in the whole county, mainly distributed in the main producing areas such as Xiaotang Township, Daxu Town, Sizhoutou Town and Xianyao Town, but the focus is still on Xiaotang Township. The black purple bayberry in Jiaotou village of Xiaotang township has the distinctive characteristics of "big, black and sweet".
