As one of the three largest foreign trade ports in China in history and one of the "five trading ports" after the Opium War, Ningbo is most famous for its silk products at home and abroad, and its status and reputation far exceed that of Hangjiahu area. Ningbo's silk products and silk weaving technology have been famous at home and abroad since ancient times and have become important commodities in foreign trade. In the Tang Dynasty, the silk produced in Ningbo, including the silk produced in Jiangsu, was sold to Japan and was called "Tang Ling", which was loved by the Japanese ruling and opposition parties. As the Japanese scholar Fujiwara said in The Moon: "In recent years, people of all colors like to wear" Tang Ling ",so they ordered the weavers in the capital to imitate it. This kind of "Tang Ling" textile technology soon became popular from Ningbo (then known as Mingzhou) to Hakata Port, the port of Japan, and became the center of ancient Japanese silk industry. This textile method was called "Hakata Weaving" and imitations of "Tang Ling" appeared in society. Besides Japan and Korea, Ningbo's silk products are also exported to Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Iran and other countries.
