A dried cuttlefish product. The dried cuttlefish is called "Mingfu owl" because its producing area, Zhoushan, belongs to Mingzhou prefecture. May and November are the peak seasons for cuttlefish hunting every year. Fishermen classify the captured cuttlefish according to their size, cut the middle of the abdomen with a knife, wash it, pick out the eyeballs, expose the cleaned cuttlefish to the sun, and dry it to make a dry product. Mingfu owl is reddish and translucent, with thick meat and fragrant smell, which can be eaten by steaming or barbecue. It has become one of the first choice gifts for friends and relatives in Ningbo.
